Pippa’s love for hospitality started 15 years ago when working at the Kailis Fish Cafe, where one of her jobs was to poke the lobsters in the tank to determine if they were dead or alive. Since then, she’s done a bit of everything, from founding Mix Haus, a not-for-profit for women in hospitality, to opening her first venue, Bar Love, earlier this year.

Welcome back to T25. In the past year, what’s happened professionally and personally?

My past year has been amazing- I quit my job at Mechanics Institute, then had a stint of being technically unemployed where I got to go and do a bunch of weird casual work for hospo friends, before opening my own venue in September. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the country and make friends at bars all over the place, which has been great for my soul but bad for my liver.
